Global Japan Network has been set up by Keiko Aoki. She studied TV & film production in the USA and received an Associate of Science degree from Portland College, Oregon. She then returned to Japan and worked for two years before arriving in Australia in 1989.
On arrival, she took a position with a TV & film co-ordinating company, the Japanese firm ‘Inter-Culcom Pty Ltd’, as assistant manager and production co-ordinator for film, TV, magazine, catalogues and various other media. After relocating to Melbourne, she studied theatre for three years.
After She finished her degree, worked on various productions such as Stringraphy Ensemble/Melbourne International Festival, Bamboo Symphonia & Bambuco/Melbourne International Festival, toured with various Australian performing companies such as Snuff Puppets, 5 Angry Men, Slacktaxi, Leigh Warren and Dancers . She was also senior site company manager for the Arts & Entertainment of Australia Pavilion at Aichi World Expo, Japan 2005. Last year, She has been working as producer of public programs (Mix It Up programs) at the Arts Centre.
Keiko`s focus during her extensive experience in project co-ordination has always been on cross-cultural exchange. Global Japan Network brings together a wide range of skills to provide assistance for any kind of international arts project.
